Milford Craft Beer Week celebrates brews
Raise your glass to local brews during week of festivities, Sept. 20-26

WHAT: Celebrate the explosion of locally-brewed ales, lagers, stouts and more as the Village of Milford introduces its inaugural Milford Craft Beer Week. Held in conjunction with the sixth annual Brewed in Michigan beer festival, craft beer enthusiasts will enjoy a week-long of boasts and toasts to the Michigan-made libations that have put the mitten on the map.

Experience the rapidly expanding Michigan craft beer industry with a special viewing of Rhino Media Production’s “Michigan Beer Film,” enjoy multiple tastings and beer dinners featuring Milford’s own River’s Edge Brewing Company, and study to receive your beer judge certification during this week-long celebration.

SCHEDULE: Milford Craft Beer Week will begin Saturday, Sept. 20 and continue through Friday, Sept. 26.
The complete event schedule is as follows:
· Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 20-21: Celebrate Oktoberfest with Palate. Guests will enjoy traditional German fare, live entertainment – and of course, das boot! Tickets are available for $30 per person at Palate.

· Monday, Sept. 22: Sample six locally brewed beers perfectly complemented by a four course meal during Palate’s River’s Edge Beer Dinner. To make a reservation for the event that starts at 6:30 p.m., call 248-977-0408.

· Tuesday, Sept. 23: Celebrate Michigan’s brewing culture as the “Michigan Beer Film” comes to Milford Cinema. Event goers will begin the evening at 6 p.m. with a Cajun turkey dinner presented by Palate and locally-crafted beer at River’s Edge Brewing Company. Following the meal, guests will proceed to the Milford Cinema for admission to the film. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the Village Fine Arts Association’s Suzanne Haskew Arts Center. Tickets are $40 per person and available online.

· Thursday, Sept. 25: Join area craft beer enthusiasts for the inaugural meeting of the Beer Judge Certification Program Study Group at River’s Edge Brewing Company. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. and offer individuals interested in becoming a certified beer judge opportunities to prepare for testing.

· Friday, Sept. 26: Bring the week to a close with the annual Brewed in Michigan Beer Festival at Baker’s of Milford. Beginning at 7 p.m. guests will enjoy beer and food tastings, as well as live entertainment. Tickets start at $30 per person and are available online.
