Voodoo Vator Crock Pot Jambalaya

Happy Mardi Gras! I put together a super simple crock pot jambalaya to celebrate using the delicious Voodoo Vator Doppelbock from Atwater Brewery in Detroit. This sweet high gravity beer goes together perfectly both in and with the dish.

2 boneless chicken breasts
5 smoked sausages
1 10 oz bag of frozen, medium, tailless uncooked shrimp
1 sweet yellow onion
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
4 stalks of celery
1 28oz can of diced, peeled tomatoes
3 cloves of garlic
1 tsp of Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp of cayenne pepper
1 tsp of oregano
1 tsp of onion salt
1 1/2 cups of chicken broth
1 12oz bottle of Voodoo Vator
2 cups of minute rice

Step 1:
Chop up vegetables, chicken, and sausage and add to the crock pot.

Step 2:
Add in spices, chicken broth, tomatoes, and beer. Cook for 5 hours on low.

Step 3:
About 40 minutes before serving add the frozen shrimp and rice.
